Hell at BurghleyPosted: April 9, 2013
Walking through the state rooms in Burghley house you’ll notice the ceilings muraled with visions of heaven populated first with the old Roman gods and creatures of myth then just as you leave these incredible light and airy rooms you come to a magnificent stairwell made dark and gloomy by the hell mural on the ceiling. Painted by an Italian painter 300 years ago for the grand sum of £200 and never restored so in their natural state.
Told Wife that’s where she would be going for her cooking and Boy its where children go who play to many video games and don’t clean up their rooms. Neither looked very impressed with me and both sent me straight there with their awesome sharp looks.
